To hone something is to smooth, sharpen, refine, or perfect something over a period. With photography we balance so many variables and constantly find ourselves looking for the right tool for the job. Sometimes how we might want to show a scene or communicate an emotion does not come to fruition as we lack the skill. This series will focus on how we can learn some new skills to help us within the landscape.
- Paul Nguyen will kick off the series by teaching us the ins and outs of creating timelapses. He’ll cover everything from basic camera settings and setup to crafting both simple and intricate timelapse projects.
- Kristen Ryan will guide us through the art of long exposures. Learn how to use filters, adjust camera settings, calculate exposure times, and find the perfect scenes for stunning shots.
- Susan Magnano takes us deeper into the world of light painting. Discover how to create and showcase scenes in a creative and artistic way, literally shedding light on a whole new perspective.
- We wrap up the series with Stephanie Johnson, focusing on the highly requested topic of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). Learn how to identify the right scenes and master various techniques to create dynamic, unique images.
This series will be hosted by 2024 Inspired Creator, Meredith Fontana and will include post processing demonstrations for each of the different techniques some on their images, but also submit your own for consideration.
