24.09 The Vision of Wildlife Series

If you are reading this you are probably either an aspiring Nature Photographer, well on your way to mastery of the craft or somewhere in between. But how much time do you spend on wildlife photography? For many of us it can be a challenge to find the right kind of location, subject, or situation to find a vision of what you want to say or how you want to express the encounters with the amazing wildlife that co-occupies this world with us.

For this series, I didn't want to give you hot spots, focus on the same kind of wildlife images you have seen a thousand times before, or bore you with technical settings. I wanted to bring you four photographers with completely different backgrounds, skills, and ways of seeing the world. Individually they represent amazing wildlife experiences, together they bring forth an extremely strong Vision of Wildlife. Join us to learn, see, and understand ways to see scenes in completely different ways.

On Sept 28th, Welsh Photographer and Mountain Guide Andy Teasdale will amaze you with his images and simple process through "Birding in my Backyard." On October 17th, we will see returning a 3rd time to NPC Photomaster Ian Plant and everything that he knows about "Making Artistic Wildlife Photographs." I guarantee some of his signature images will burn into your mind forever. On October 29th, Julie Steelman will bring us "The Wild Essence of Wildlife" and her personal journey through grief and the underlying connection to wildlife. Closing out the series on election night (November 5th) acclaimed speaker David DuChemin will present "A Wilder Voice, Wildlife Photographs That Are More Than Just Good."

David and Ian will review JPG images after their talks, while Andy and Julie will demonstrate post-processing on user-submitted RAW files. Get your files ready!
